Storey's Field Centre, Eddington

Dr Sara Robb is coming to demonstrate to us how to make natural soaps, creams and lip balms using beeswax and honey. The talk is not only open to beekeepers, but also anyone else interested in using natural ingredients to make skin products for themselves or as gifts for others.

Dr Robb has a PhD in Neuroscience from Hershey Medical School, Pennsylvania. After leaving academic research, she started her company, Bath Potions, which specialises in honey soaps and beeswax creams. Recipes are available in her first book, Dr Sara’s Honey Potions. Her second book, Beauty & the Bees examines how the anti-oxidants in honey decrease oxidative stress.

Sara lives in North London with her family and runs workshops at the BBKA Spring Convention and The National Honey Show each year. Sara has a continued interest in introducing beekeepers to cosmetic formulation and has entered a new venture, Verdigris Cosmetic Solutions, to provide cosmetic safety assessments to beekeepers.

Eddington is a new site and so everything is changing continuously.   Please check the instructions on how to get there before travelling.

There is free parking in the Madingley Road Park and Ride site (10 minute walk away) and on-street parking immediately outside is free from 6pm, with disabled parking available.
