Storey's Field Centre, Eddington

Clare has kept bees since 1992. When in 2008 she got the chance to become an assistant bee keeper at Buckfast Abbey she thought that she had died and gone to heaven. Clare has also worked as a seasonal bee inspector.

The honey produced by the hives at Buckfast Abbey goes to the monks. The beekeeping team run courses, host visits, run a community apiary, and engage in some modest research. Their philosophy is that of gentle and intelligent bee keeping based on understanding the colony as a superorganism.

The talk will be for approximately one hour, followed by an opportunity for Q&A.

Tea and coffee will be provided

All are welcome.
